Area

Archway

This area is full of lovely Victorian houses with tree lined streets and pretty gardens. It has easy transport link to centre of London but has a wonderfully village-like feel.

Tufnell Park is walking distance to the East side of Hampstead Heath a huge oasis of beautiful green parkland with playgrounds, tennis courts , a cafe and great runs and walks. In the centre is the Georgian jewel Kenwood house, famous for its appearance in the film "Notting Hill”. It houses an incredible collection of pictures including a portrait of Rembrandt and the famous The Musician by Vermeer. The Cafe/ Restaurant in the grounds are also well worth a visit.

Fortess Road that runs from Tufnell Park Station is a great local shopping street full of independent shops including a fantastic butcher, fishmonger, greengrocer, and ice cream parlour, as well as Bear and Wolf — a fabulously child-friendly cafe. The nearby High Street in Kentish Town is good for all your home shopping needs and Camden is only a short bus ride away, with its famous market and eclectic range of shops. And speaking of shops, there's a superb bakery called Bread by Bike selling some of London’s best sourdough, with its own cafe next door. Or, for a taste of Italy, wander over the road to Salvino’s — a delectable deli that's reached local legend status.

The neighbourhood is renowned for its bars and restaurants. The award-winning gastro pub the Junction Tavern is a short walk away. Standout spots for a local pint also include the Lord Palmerston with its inviting garden and the cosy classic, the Pineapple. Soho House's Pizza East is also a great place for family dining.

The area also boasts the Music Venue The FORUM on Highgate Road and there is also good leisure centre and an indoor pool in Kentish Town.

Spread over three floors, there a fair few steps, including a few down to the kitchen. A dog is one of the family members who usually lives here, so this might not be the best fit for those with allergies. A family home in every regard, it's definitely better suited to guests travelling as a family group, or with children.
No smoking, pets, or parties!
