Start things off gently with a low-key coffee in the modern fitted kitchen, although we’d advise holding back on that slice of toast. With so many artisan street food outlets scattered around this part of town, you might just need to save some space.

Feeling a touch rebellious? A quiet night in is probably as close as you can get to being truly countercultural in this most free-spirited of neighbourhoods. On that score, the secluded patio terrace is sweetly accommodating. Spend a blissful evening accompanied by nothing stronger than a piping hot brew at sundown; in fact, if you listen carefully, you may just hear the gentle hum of the night owls of Shoreditch swooping into life.
